New Website? You Need Headshots!

During 2010 I had the pleasure of meeting and learning from Peter Hurley, arguably the  best headshot photographer for actors  in the WORLD. Last week I had the opportunity to be a guest speaker for a select group of photographers that Peter “mentors”. Many of you know that I specialize in creating corporate headshots and business portraits and while my area of expertise is definitely different from Peter’s most of the technical aspects and (more importantly) many of the people skills that go into creating an actors headshot also apply to making a great headshot for someone in the corporate world.

The guys over at the  F-Stoppers website  blogged about the the Facebook group that Peter Hurley has created and also mentioned my talk in his writeup.

It was a pleasure to interact with 25+ photographers from around the world that are creating their own work. I’m always inspired by other photographer work and their work ethic.

New Website? You Need Headshots!

As business headshot photographers we feel there is no debate as to whether you should or should not include a photo in your LinkedIn profile. OF COURSE YOU SHOULD. The counterargument was that including a photo could mean that someone “might” not want to hire you based on what you look like. Regardless of that argument, there are a few fundamental reasons why you want to upload a professional business headshot to your LinkedIn profile TODAY:

  • Avoid someone faking your profile. A photograph shows the REAL YOU.
  • Why go the the effort of creating a presence on a SOCIAL networking site and not have a PICTURE?
  • Adding in the photo brings your LinkedIn profile to 100% completeness
  • Personal branding is very important, therefore a photograph is essential to your branding success. First impressions mean a lot in the business work and in most cases that first impression is created visually.

The vast majority of our clients use our corporate headshots to complete their LinkedIn profiles. We recently worked with Eric Olesen, a Washington DC based consultant, to create a new corporate headshot for various needs. Eric was photographed in our Washington DC studio…and was in and out in 30-40 minutes. We are very efficient at creating outstanding portraits and we realize that your busy schedule doesn’t allow you to spend 2-3 hours in front of the camera.

Take a look at our portfolio of corporate headshots and business portraits created in the studio and on location. We service the Atlanta, Baltimore, Boston, Charlotte, Chicago, Los Angeles, New York, Philadelphia, San Diego and Washington DC business markets.
