"We are what we repeatedly do. Excellence, then, is not an act, but a habit." ~ Aristotle

My key to being a professional portrait photographer is in building rapport with the subject.

As a headshot photographer, I've created over 76,300 portraits since July 2000 when I started DC Corporate Headshots.

Remember: People buy from people they know, like and trust. A portrait that I create for you will instantly help you achieve your professional and personal goals.

You Can No Longer Afford To Ignore Your Professional and Personal Image. Elevate Your Brand.

  • Reason #1 -Your Image is YOUR Brand

Photos enable you to show your prospects and clients what you have to offer rather than tell them. In this day and age, consumers like to see their business partners/vendors for themselves before making a decision about a purchase.

  • Reason #2 -You Need to "Look Like Money"

Low quality, unprofessional photos will communicate the same about your organization and the products and services you offer.

Your photos and your website are hugely important when it comes to making a first impression on customers. Don’t skimp on them!

  • Reason #3 -Stock Photos Look Fake (Because They ARE!!!)

Stock photos are one alternative that some organizations consider when they feel a photo shoot with a professional photographer might be out of reach. While stock photos are certainly helpful for some purposes, they are not the best way to showcase your business. Why? Because they are not photos of your business.

  • Reason #4 -Professional Photos are Professional ASSETS

When it comes to marketing your business online, you have probably heard the phrase “content is king.” This has been the case for a while now, and it definitely still holds true. But what many don’t realize is that photos are content – and they are a powerful, versatile form of content at that.

Online, photos can be used to make your website infinitely more engaging. They can be used to build your brand on social media, including Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, Pinterest, LinkedIn, Google+ and more. They can also be featured in blog posts and articles – the possibilities are endless.

  • Reason #5 -Cost Effectiveness

100% Cliche, but “if you think it’s expensive professional photography is expensive, wait until you hire an amateur.”

My wife and I were recently invited to a wedding (as guests) and they had paid a cheap ‘professional’ photographer to take their photos. Needless to say they were very disappointed with the results.

I have been asked (begged) to improve/edit the photos as best I can. Ultimately that’s not my strength and I feel awful about their experience so I have personally referred them to the best LOCAL retoucher (someone they can sit down face to face with) in the DC area. After the first round of improvements they have already thanked me, but they are having to spend several thousand dollars in addition to the money they already spent.

Ask Our Team Of Business Portrait Ninja's...

  • q-iconWhere is your studio located?

Our studio is conveniently located at 528 F Street Terrace S.E. Washington DC 20003. There is free 2-hour parking on the streets surrounding the studio. Additionally, we are only 2 blocks from the Eastern Market Metro (Blue, Orange, Silver Lines) which also houses a Capital Bike Share station.

  • q-iconWhat happens if I don’t like ANY of the photos?

Due to the manner in which we conduct our sessions this rarely happens. In fact, it has only happened twice since we opened in 1997. In both of those cases we politely refunded 100% of the clients fees. No hard feelings. In reality, you have ZERO risk associated with booking a session with us.

  • q-iconShould I smile for my photo?

In most (but not all) cases you want to project a confident and approachable demeanor in your business portrait. But you don’t *have* to smile in all of your photos. We will coach and guide you through the session so that you look your best. With or without a smile.

  • q-iconWhat color background will you use?

The “look and feel” of your photograph is something that I will discuss with you during your planning session. We stock dozens of different background colors, types and styles which include custom hand-painted backdrops from the Internationally Renowned Sarah Oliphant (you’ve probably seen these backdrops in photos by Annie Leibovitz and many other famous photographers.)

  • q-iconCan you match the look of a photo from another photographer/office/photo?

In general the answer to this question is YES. It helps us for you to provide us with a high-resolution version of the image BEFORE your photo shoot so we can be prepared in advance. Sometimes the lighting patterns and modifiers can be tricky and we don’t like to waste your studio time doing “test” shots so we suggest letting us know about your requirements during our planning call.

  • q-iconHow often should I update my corporate headshot?

Most people should update their business portrait every 18-24 months. You definitely shouldn’t go any longer than three years without an update. You want your image to remain current and fresh. Do keep in mind that once you become a client you’ll NEVER PAY FULL PRICE again so that’s always to your advantage and allows you to come back more frequently without breaking the bank.
