Meet our FOUNDER ...Delane Rouse

A long time member of the Washington DC business community, Delane Rouse founded DC Corporate Headshots in 1997.  

Prior to that, he received a degree in Textile Materials Science from North Carolina State University and in 1995 and worked as a Research Scientist for Kimberly-Clark Corporation, then several years as a Development Engineer for one of the premier plastics suppliers in the U.S.  

Since opening this professional photography studio in 1997, Delane has photographed a long list of leaders in business, government and sports, including George W. Bush, Eric Holder, John Kerry, Michelle Obama, James Comey, Janet Yellen, Tom Brady, Nikki Haley, and dozens of other noteworthy individuals.  

The extraordinary caliber of his portraits is due in part to his technical background. He has a remarkable ability to turn data points about quantity and quality of light, light modifiers, color, color temperature, pixels, etc. into into great professional headshots.  

Yet his corporate background helps him understand your needs for a job well done, on time and within budget.

Cancellations (or Rescheduling)

This is a subject that we had hoped to avoid. The dreaded CANCELLATION (or rescheduling).  

Let's lose the gobbledegook (legal mumbo-jumbo) and put this in plain English for clarity...  

Appointment times have been arranged specifically for you and unlike the airlines we do NOT doublebook sessions. 

Simply put, your assignment is a agreement and we will uphold our part.  

CANCELLATIONS/RESCHEDULING We understand that unanticipated events happen occasionally in everyone’s life.  

Business meetings, project deadlines, flight delays, car problems, snowstorms, and illness are just a few reasons why one might consider canceling an appointment. In our desire to be effective and FAIR TO ALL OF OUR CLIENTS we have adopted the following policies:  

  • You may reschedule your session with 5 or more business (M-F) notice WITH NO PENALTY by calling us at 202-796-3003. 
  • Cancellations made with less that 5 days notice will be charged 100% of the agreed upon session fee. The fee/deposit serves as the cancellation fee. 
  • If you “no-show” for a session, you will be charged 100% of the agreed upon session fee.
  • Same day appointments must be paid in full to book the session.


Sure, there are exceptions to this policy. In case of death, acts of God, and/or unforeseeable forces of nature we will evaluate each on a case by case basis. Think Super Storm Sandy, Snowmageddon, Hurricane Hugo, etc. If you really need to ask if your situation is covered…it’s probably not. You’ll know.  

If you are considering canceling/rescheduling due to bad hair, skin, rashes, animal scratches, abrasions, cold sores, shopping for clothing that you like, traffic, cuts, scrapes, etc.; you will be charged 100% of the agreed upon session fee.  

   

LATE ARRIVALS If you arrive more than 10 minutes late your session may be shortened in order to accommodate appointments that follow yours. Depending upon how late you arrive, your photographer will then determine if there is enough time remaining to start the session. Regardless of the length of the session actually given, you will be responsible for the full session fee.  

Out of respect and consideration to your photographer and other customers, please plan accordingly and be on time.
